Theodora Ciuta

Trainee Solicitor

Theodora Ciuta is a Trainee Solicitor at Crushell & Co Solicitors, a specialist Irish law firm focused exclusively on employment law, workplace disputes, industrial relations, discrimination claims, whistleblowing, data protection, and related litigation. Having commenced her traineeship with the firm in May 2024, Theodora specialises in employment law and supports clients across a broad range of workplace matters, from contractual and policy issues through to complex litigation and representation before employment law forums.

Employment law is an area significantly influenced by European Union law, with many of Ireland’s employment rights protections deriving from EU Directives governing equality, working conditions, and worker protection. This background informs Theodora’s approach to practice, where she works closely with solicitors, counsel, and clients on all aspects of the employment relationship. Her experience includes advising on contracts of employment, workplace policies, grievance and disciplinary procedures, dismissal processes, settlement negotiations, and proceedings before the Workplace Relations Commission, Labour Court, and civil courts.

Prior to commencing her traineeship, Theodora completed a prestigious Bluebook Traineeship in the European Parliament, where she supported the legislative work of the LIBE Committee (Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs) in its role safeguarding the rights protected by the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. She subsequently served as a Junior Policy Fellow with the European Institute of Policy Research and Human Rights, where her research focused on the development of Ireland’s remote working legal framework within a broader European context.

Theodora holds a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Technological University Dublin and is currently completing her professional training with the Law Society of Ireland, with qualification anticipated in March 2027. Her academic and professional background reflects a strong interest in employment rights, equality law, public policy, and the interaction between Irish and European legal frameworks. Born and raised in Ireland and of Romanian heritage, Theodora is fully bilingual in English and Romanian.

Theodora is committed to providing clear, practical, and client-focused legal support. She brings a thoughtful and analytical approach to her work, helping clients navigate challenging workplace issues with confidence while ensuring that legal advice remains commercially realistic and accessible.

Outside of her legal career, Theodora has a keen interest in music and the arts. She holds the Licentiate of the Royal Irish Academy of Music (LRIAM) in Piano and continues to play recreationally.
